Feeding the Ducks

Beau and I have really begun to enjoy the ducks at our apartment. For all the mess they make, they do the funniest things that always make us smile. We frequently feed them and because of this every time we open our door to come and go, the ducks gather in anticipation of food. Last night Beau and I were outside feeding them when the geese joined us. Neither of us care for the geese because they're territorial and bully the ducks. I generally selectively toss the food in the direction of the ducks since I much prefer them. A goose didn't like this and started hissing and nipping at me, so I gave it a "gentle" nudge with my boot. (I would have smacked it with a large carpet bag-like purse -Thank goodness for Aunt Pat, but I didn't have it handy) That didn't do the trick so I "pelted" it with the food I had in my hand. It waddled back to the pond to sulk with its gang of other geese, which left the ducks available to feed. They quacked and waddled around. It was so funny. I love the sound their little webbed feet make as they walk across the sidewalk.

OMG! I was laughing so hard when I read about the ducks/geese. I don't like the geese either - their poop covered the sidewalks and grass when I lived in Boise. Gross.
