Last weekend we finally finished painting the main room in our house. As I'm sure you all remember, our ceiling was gray. Why might someone paint a ceiling this dark gray color, you ask? I seriously have no idea, but I'm SO glad to be rid of it. The painting seemed to take FOREVER, but we had some great help from my Dad and our dear friend Trisha to help lighten the burden. Since we previously painted the walls, our main focus was to get the ceiling painted and start on the trim. We waited so long to do this because we were unsure of exactly how we were going reach the high ceilings. Lucky for us we have some awesome resources. My dad provided us with some scaffolding that allowed us to paint the ceiling without any trouble. We actually managed to complete the ceiling, trim and all the touch up work. Way to go, US!Since the ceilings are vaulted, it was difficult to really see the difference in color before we started, however, the gray ceiling looked dingy and dirty compared to the white.
It's truly amazing what a fresh coat of paint can do for a room. The room now looks bright, fresh and clean. What a great way to start the year.
