Fair warning- I talk about an owie....
The other day I received a phone call from Beau stating that he had sliced his finger open and needed stitches. So I jumped in the car and cruised over to take him. Although I've had stitches years ago, I've never witnessed the procedure being done and I was totally fascinated by it. He had a rather interesting experience. First of all the clinic let us sit out in the waiting room for about 20 minutes with his finger all wrapped up in the same paper towel that he had come there in. Then to our surprise, he got the "new" girl as the assistant. I will say she was thorough while trying to clean the wound, but she kept claiming that she could see something in there (weird considering the cut happened with a razor blade and was pretty clean) so she kept on cleaning away. When the doctor, finally came in, she sewed him right up, and I kept thinking to myself that this wasn't quite the art I had expected to witness. In fact, I'm 100% positive that my Mother could have done nicer, smaller stitches and probably saved the insurance company a couple of hundred bucks. All in all, we're glad it's over with and everything went smoothly. By the way, I helped pick the pink bandage. He's had several comments about it, but I still think it's cute. Also noteworthy- every time I'd try to get a picture of him, that lip would stick out and the sad face would suddenly appear. Poor Beau.
