Beau and I decided that we’d like to occasionally highlight some of the people that greatly influence our lives and explain why we think they’re so extraordinary! Hopefully you will find this as fun as we have.
Dale is my Dad (as most of you know). We chose to start with him because we both admire him so much. A little about him; He was born and raised in Salt Lake City, UT by two of the greatest people I’ve ever known. He has been married for almost 37 years to my Mom, Dixie, and has 4 (now 8 with spouses) awesome kids and 7 grandchildren. He loves to spend time with his family and has created some of the most fun memories for us with all of the camping, boating, etc… that we’ve done through the years.
Some of our favorite things about him are his willingness to help anyone in need at the drop of a hat, regardless of how inconvenient or cumbersome it could be. The memory of his funny cut-off shorts! His logical mindset and great advice. Also, his love for westerns and the strategic argument that he uses to convince you it’s a "love story", and watch it with him. We love the reverse psychology he uses to get popcorn and drinks when watching TV, and thinks is so funny. (I have to explain here, It goes like this, “Ness, are you thirsty?”
“Yeah, actually, I am.”
“Great, when you go get a drink for yourself, will you get me one too?!”)
We love his insistence of the buddy system when having to go to the store. Also, watching him discipline the weenie dog. (Again, explanation: “Get off the couch.” The dog jumps off the couch and then right back up…. “Good dog.” (Then he just smiles like he has the smartest dog in the world.) We love his funny sense of humor and jokes that he shares with everyone (and sometimes shouldn’t). We love his big heart and unconditional love for people. His excitement when talking to everyone on the phone, like he hasn’t talked to you in months, and his own little way of making you feel comfortable for just being you!
We are so grateful for his knowledge and experience and the example he sets for us and we love him so much.
Thanks for all you do for us Dad!
