There is nothing quite like the first weekend of college football. We all know that fall is right around the corner along with sweaters and soups, and the chill in the air; but what is it about college football that makes this transition from sunny days to gloom so bearable? (This question is rhetorical; I don’t know the answer either)
We love college football! (Go UTES!!!) Although we definitely have our preference on teams, there is just something about watching the game that is exciting. It isn’t so much the raw talent that we’re witnessing because after all, many (I would say most) of the players are still learning, but rather the perseverance to contribute all they have to the season in the hopes of reigning supreme above their competitor. Perhaps the lack of monetary fulfillment or fame (outside of campus) contributes to their drive, but whatever it is, it’s AWESOME, and we just can’t get enough!
Football is, after all, a wonderful way to get rid of your aggressions without going to jail for it.- Heywood Hale Broun.
