We're Still Alive

I know, I know... It's been months. Which is entirely unlike me, but life happens, and unfortunately blogging has been my last priority. So here's a recap of what is going on with us.

Beau: Beau is now working for a company called TruGreen and is quickly becoming the yard connoisseur in the areas of fertilizer, pest control and best uses/areas for plant growth. Although the weather has been less than ideal lately, he loves being outside. He's still plugging away with school and will graduate with his associates this spring. He's stoked and can't wait to be finished. In the minimal free time he has, he's been keeping up on March Madness and watching as much of Anthony Bourdain's last season as possible. Unfortunately, we'll be in Mexico this June when AB comes to Salt Lake. Boo!

Me: I am still plugging away at work, but that isn't any fun to talk about, so I'll move on. I've been crafty lately. My friend Sara has been teaching me to make jewelry and I think I'm finally getting the hang of it. I love it and I might be slightly obsessed. I've also been sewing and I may or may not be getting better. Tee hee... I've also been on quite the literary kick. I've poured through numerous books already and am well on my way to reading 50 books this year. (here's to hopin') So check out my Shelfari page if you're interested. I've also been exploring some training for a half marathon. I've always wanted to run in a race but have lacked the motivation. I've also been trying some new recipes and exploring some healthier options.

Occupying most of our time is "the house hunt". Who'd have thought that buying a home would be so difficult? We've probably viewed 40+ houses and still are not finding much that we're interested in. For those that aren't familiar with the current market, (or at least the market in our area and price range) almost everything is in a Short Sale and due to the governments tax incentive not making our desire to buy a home any easier. We spend every night either researching homes online or viewing them. It's crazy. We're looking forward to finally finding our own place and being done with this mess.
