2 years ago, today, Beau and I were married in the Salt Lake Temple. There are so many things that I remember about that day, but what I recall now (2 years later) are a few unique memories of how I felt and what a great day it was for us. Since many of those moments were personal, I'll just share a few funny things from that day.
1. I was late to the temple. Poor Beau managed to get a round of golf in that morning and make it there on time. I would like to note, that I was late, but not because I wasn't ready on time. :o)
2. We ate at Tony Caputo's in between the wedding and the reception. We were starving and I loved that we got to have lunch together with just the two of us!
3. I could not lift my arms up in my wedding gown to hug Beau (or anyone else for that matter). I still LOVE my dress.
4. My brothers decided it would be a blast to show up wearing socks and sandals in their tuxedos. This was only part of the problem. They were also decked out in an array of VERY bright colored vests and ties (I'm more of a traditional black vest and tie kind of girl) with their hair looking like Lloyd's from Dumb and Dumber. I took one look at the vests and freaked out. (I didn't even notice the shoes). Apparently, my brothers (the gems) neglected to mention to my Dad that this was a joke, so he actually called the tuxedo store and started explaining the situation before someone stopped him and explained that it was a joke. ***Note to all of you that are laughing. DO NOT do this to a bride on her big day. It's not funny.
We had some laughs and unique moments, and an overall great wedding. I am SO grateful everyday for Beau. I'm grateful that he is my best friend and I am so grateful for his unconditional love and for all the little things he does each day to make my life wonderful! So here's to a happy 2 years and many more to come!
