Yeah... we moved more than a month ago and I'm just barely getting to blogging about this, but we've been swamped with too many other things. So... sorry it's so late, but here it is. Beau and I moved in on the weekend of the 4th of July. I couldn't have chosen a better weekend. It's one of my favorite holidays and I love everything that it represents... Anyway, back to the house. (Summer posts to come)
We now live in Eagle Mountain. Shockingly, we LOVE it. We were nervous about moving out of Salt Lake, and thought we would be surrounded by BYU fans, but as luck would have it, all of our neighbors are Ute fans. Go UTES! Our city is small and undeveloped and exactly what we were looking for.We have awesome neighbors who are very friendly and very likable. Our home backs a field with horses and mules, so we go for a walk almost every night to feed them and say hello. Since we live outside of the city, we can see all the stars at night and it's GORGEOUS! I haven't seen anything like that in the valley since I was a kid, and I love to just sit and watch them.
Our favorite feature of our house is the kitchen. It's HUGE and we love it! We have these awesome concrete counter tops that are extremely durable, not to mention give us plenty of space to cook. Our cabinet space never ceases to amaze me. We currently have so much space that we don't have enough stuff to fill it. Isn't that great?!?
Our entire house has these awesome vaulted ceilings that make it very open. Aside from the color on the walls, we really love this great room. (No worries, it will be painted soon.)
This room still needs some work, but again, we love the space.
I fell in love with this bathroom the first time I saw it. The bath tub is awesome and has a seperate shower next to it. We also have the tall "adult height" counters with a double sink.
And lastly for the pictures... our bedroom. When we moved in, this room was the same color as the brown walls in the kitchen. Since it wasn't really our taste, we opted for a more neutral wall color. Also, make sure you check out our 18" AWESOME Michael Scott flat screen. There's an awesome story to go along with that one that we'll tell you when you all come to visit.
To match the rest of the wall colors that we really don't like, the previous owners chose to paint one of the other rooms midnight blue with a matching light blue ceiling. Painting these vaulted ceilings and walls are going to be the death of us, but we remembered to take pictures of this one so that everyone could see what it looked like.
Unfortunately our pictures were deleted prior to removing the wall decor that the previous owners left, but the managed to hang a garden hose, complete with a faucet and a silver shovel and hoe that were later nailed to the wall. I don't know... don't ask. We now refer to this room as the hoe room and can't wait to use our platinum shovel and hoe in our yard.
More to come!
